Raising Awareness and Support for Children Victimized by Human Trafficking

Beginning May 1, 2018, Uplift Intimate Apparel in Carmel City Center is donating $1 to Restored Inc. for every pair of Blush panties sold. The program is called “Panties On Purpose” or POP! Sex Trafficking is a LOCAL issue, not just something you hear about overseas. Each day girls and boys are abused, manipulated, and sold right here in Indiana.
“Human trafficking just wrecks me. We want to be part of the solution on an ongoing basis,” says Carla Mackie, owner of Uplift Intimate Apparel. Panties On Purpose was established as a way to accomplish that using one of the top selling items at Uplift. “This program allows me to help Restored, Inc., but it also gives the community a way to support through a normal life purchase. In addition to the ongoing donation, Uplift is also continuing to collect Target and Walmart gift cards for Restored, Inc.,” says Mackie. “Our program in February was so successful, we still have people dropping off gift cards that we give to Restored. We’re just a natural drop site and are thrilled to do it,” says Mackie. Laura Mason, community outreach coordinator of Restored, Inc., says “So much of what we do is dependent on the efforts of our community partners like Uplift Intimate Apparel. When Carla came to us with the idea, we loved the name POP and the concept. It’s so helpful to have partners with passion like Carla.”
Uplift Intimate Apparel is celebrating their 1st Anniversary May 3, 2018. The day will include special gifts with purchase and prize drawings throughout the day. The store is committed to women, but also has a whole line just for men. Specialties include professional bra fittings and European lingerie including bras (day, evening, special, strapless, sports & nursing) in cup sizes from A-J, panties, bridal, couture nightwear & slips, sleepwear, shapewear, swimwear, accessories and laundry solutions. For men, Uplift carries SAXX underwear, workout wear and swim trunks. Uplift is open Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Uplift also accepts “gently loved bras” as a donation and then partners with area organizations supporting women in need.  We take your “gently loved” donations, go to where the women are, and actually fit the women in need. It’s not just about giving a bra; it’s about giving a bra that fits!

Uplift is located at Carmel City Center, 711 Veterans Way, Carmel, IN  46032
