Q:
Is there anywhere nearby to eat? Like a picnic table or park? A friend and I are coming through town exclusively to eat Lou's, and we'd love to find a table, since dining in is not an option.

Q:
How thin is the thin crust pizza?
A:
It's pretty thin, not like a normal dominos pizza crust... it's harder and thinner.

I was in the mood for pizza one night and I noticed on Uber Eats that Lou Malnati's was having a buy one get one free on pizzas. I jumped on the offer. I have been to the actual location and it is very nice. The ambiance is definitely Italian themed and the decor is very nice. The service is wonderful and the staff definitely make you feel like you are in Italy. I ordered the small deep dish cheese and pepperoni pizza. It was wonderful. I do not have deep dish pizza very often, but when I do, it is a pure treat to myself. Lou Malnati's uses wonderful spices and ingredients in their deep dish pizza that makes it taste so unique from other pizzas. It is a true Chicago deep dish style pizza and is worth every penny you spend on the meal. If you want to treat yourself to a wonderful pizza, go to Lou Malnati's. You will pay a pretty penny, but it is worth it!

I know Valentine's Day is a high volume day but it doesn't excuse bad customer service. I ordered ahead of time on the app for a timed pick up. When we got there at our scheduled time, the line was wrapped around the building without any employees to answer questions. Everyone in line had a timed pick up and had been waiting beyond their times. We had to relieve our babysitter so after trying to call the store to inquire and being left on hold, we just got fast food.
I called today (the next day) to ask to have the charge removed since I had to prepay and then couldn't receive my food. The employee on the phone was nice and said it'd be 3-5 days until it refunded so hopefully that does happen. I asked to talk with the manager (rather than post a review like this online) and he said sure but then left me on hold for almost 10 minutes before I gave up.
I hope they can streamline their service for their next high volume event. I also hope they get their customer service in check so that when people want to talk about their experience they aren't left on hold.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Aug 24, 2023Updated review
Updating my review after many visits here. We just ordered thin crust pizza for the first time. We've been eating Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza for years, but this was my first thin crust.
We ordered an extra large thin crust with tomatoes, onions, olives, and mushrooms, and a large Malnati salad. The amount of toppings was generous and the pizza was delicious.
The salad was excellent as always. We love their house made dressings, especially the creamy lemon garlic and ranch.
Service is always great at this location. Our pizzas are always ready right on time. The employees are asuper friendly.
Deep dish butter crust is still my first love but the thin crust is a delicious option too.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 11, 2023Previous reviewUpdating my review after many visits here. So I was really excited when I heard the news several months ago that we were finally getting a location just a few miles from my home.
This morning I placed an order on the app for two deep dish pizzas and a salad. I chose a pickup time of 6:25 pm so I could get my order on my way home from work.
There were several employees in the parking lot directing customers to parking spots for curbside pickup. The process was very well organized and despite the large number of customers picking up pizzas there was no traffic jam. My order was brought out exactly on time.
Our two pizzas were excellent: a deep dish cheese and a Lou's. I had ordered a Malnati salad minus the salami, with my two favorite dressings: cGorgonzola and creamy lemon garlic.
The entire experience was excellent and I am very happy to have my favorite Chicago pizza nearby. - Nov 14, 2022
It was Friday evening and **shocker** I did not feel like cooking. I was craving pizza and hadn't tried Lou Malnati's before so I got online and ordered a pizza to be delivered.
The online ordering was pretty easy and I set my time for delivery for about 75 minutes out since I wasn't starving yet. About ten minutes before my pizza was due to be delivered I got a phone call saying that my pizza had been given away to the wrong customer but they were in the process of making a replacement. It was going to take an additional hour though.
I wasn't terribly upset because mistakes happen and I still wasn't starving. The manager told me they'd give me a free pizza on my next visit to make up for the error which I thought was nice but I also wondered why they didn't just comp my current order. It made me wonder if when I went to claim my free pizza down the road would it be hassle to explain what had happened? Still, I did appreciate the fact that they called.
When the pizza was delivered, even the delivery person apologized for the error which I thought was nice. The pizza looked great and was hot when it was delivered. I ordered a thin crust with pepperoni, sausage and mushroom.
The pizza was ok. There was something about the sausage flavor that I didn't care for. I think when I order to claim my freebie I will try the deep dish and definitely will not order sausage as a topping.
I did also think the pizza was kind of pricey. For a Large thin crust with three toppings, delivery and tip my bill was almost $40. I don't think I've ever paid that much for a delivery pizza.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ryan A.Greenfield, IN8106Dec 30, 2023

I used to order a couple of deep dish pizzas, the bruschetta and family-size salads from Lou Malnati's at least once a month. I have to say, the Bruschetta is STELLAR. Probably one of the best around, and certainly THE BEST from any pizza joint. I know Giordano's says they have the best, but they are wrong. It might be too salty for some, but the tomatoes, basil and mozzarella are amazing. The pizza are pretty good, although I always feel like the sauce is missing something. It's a little bland for my taste. Oddly, Giordano's has a better sauce. Go figure. The only real problem I have with the restaurant is that regardless of when you place your order and how much time before your pick-up, they will ALWAYS not have it ready. Plan on waiting 15-20 minutes while they figure out what they are doing. Staff definitely needs to work on efficient customer service.

In honor of national deep dish pizza day I decided to observe it by getting a pie from Lou's!
The sausage and pepperoni is delicious and the cornmeal crust is amazing!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Nov 27, 2020Previous reviewLou Malnati's is, in my humble opinion, the best Chicago Deep dish pizza in Indy. Nothing quite compares to its overall quality and taste.
They are only doing carry out and delivery at this time. It took almost an hour to pick up the pizza and it was curbside and well worth the wait. The customer service both on the phone and at the car was amazing!
I ordered the sausage and pepperoni deep dish with butter crust.
The sausage and pepperoni toppings are very flavorful.
The crust is buttery and crunchy along with homemade tomato sauce!
Overall this is a great addition to the pizza scene. - Michella A.Wapakoneta, OH1128Dec 9, 2023
Best deep dish pizza EVER! I've had Lou Malnati's in a couple of the Illinois locations over the years so I'm loving that there's one in Carmel. I've ordered from here a few times this year and it's always a perfect experience.

Let me start with the salad! It was huge and packed with diced totes, mushrooms, Onions, black olives and cheese-i think it was gargonzola. It had a generous amount of salami bits and an Italian type dressing. It was a little to sweet for me but not bad
We got a real chicago deep dish medium veggie pizza with tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach mix with basil and onions on a garlic crust. Some bites of the spinach were bunched up so there was a strong bitter taste but the pizza was pretty good on the whole. Lacked some spicè. I added garlic slat hot pepper flakes and parmesan to give it a little help. Was very filling though. It took me n hubby 2 days to eat it all. I seem to remember the one in Chicago being better.
They have frozen options as well if you want 2 get a pizza or 2 to keep in the freezer or have a pizza and movie night, but I have not tried the frozen yet.
I was very disappointed with the teramasu dessert. It was bland and watery. Deffinately not worth $8+ it cost!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
