IGNITE STUDIO WELCOMES JEANETTE POMEROY PARSSI AS NEWEST MAKER-IN-RESIDENCE

Beginning her special residency with a reception on Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 PM, Jeanette Pomeroy Parssi will become the newest featured artist in the Ignite Studio at HEPL. Through its Maker-in-Residence program, the Ignite Studio regularly features professional and emerging makers and artists who help connect local residents with different creative processes. Parssi will join the ranks of a unique group of makers who are specially selected for this opportunity at Ignite Studio. Her work will be featured for 12-weeks in the art-inspired makerspace where area residents are encouraged to view her work and visit with the artist during open studio hours, and learn firsthand about her unique craft through a variety of workshops and classes. Ohio native Parssi found her path in 1994 when she left the corporate world to pursue her art passion. Studying with renowned artists and traveling extensively have taught and inspired Parssi to become a better artist. Jeanette Pomeroy Parssi acknowledges that it is not often that people have the opportunity to follow their dreams, or dedicate their lives to something they truly love. Knowing she is fortunate to be in this position, she never takes her life, or her art, for granted.

Ignite Studio at HEPL is an art-inspired makerspace offering a unique combination of technology, art, performance and experiences, open to artists of all levels of expertise, ages and interests. The space offers many fully stocked maker/art kits, a digital media labs including Apple iMacs with Retina display and Adobe Creative Cloud suite, a full-equipped A/V production studio, and an assortment of art-related equipment seldom found in public libraries including, a 3Doodler, 3D scanner, laser engraver, vinyl cutter, light exposure unit, and even sewing machines and tool kits.
Ignite Studio at HEPL is located within the Fishers Library at Five Municipal Drive and is open to the public the same hours as the library itself, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, and Sunday from 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
