4.01k Race for Financial Fitness™ Races into the Fifth Year

Race expands to Indianapolis, raising money to fund financial education programs for kids

Carmel, IN. – Feb. 19, 2019 – Pledging to raise money to improve financial literacy for school-aged kids across the country, the 4.01k Race for Financial Fitness™ will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a record number of participating cities across the nation – 13 in total. This year will be the first year of racing for Indianapolis (Carmel). Hosted by ProCourse Fiduciary Advisors, local race proceeds will benefit Junior Achievement of Central Indiana to promote students’ financial literacy.

“Bringing the race to our city aligns perfectly with our goal to promote financial fitness within our community,” said Doug Prince, founder and CEO of ProCourse Fiduciary Advisors. “We are excited to support Junior Achievement in their efforts to empower young people to make smart academic and economic choices.”

In addition to Indianapolis, this year’s races are scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Detroit, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia and Salt Lake City through the months of March, April and May. The route for the Carmel race will measure 4.01 kilometers (about 2 miles). In addition to the race, there will be a Well-A-Bration™ afterwards with music, food, drinks, games and more.

The 4.01K Race for Financial Fitness™ is a signature program of the Smarter Tomorrow Foundation™, which was created by Chepenik Financial to expand access to financial literacy education for students across the nation. Jean Chatzky, financial editor of NBC’s TODAY show, award-winning personal finance journalist and founder and CEO of HerMoney, will serve as the event’s National Financial Head Coach for the third year in a row.
