Join Professor Steve as he amazes and entertains with his collection of incredible and unusual space and flight-related fun! Things are going to fly, hover, crash and change shape. Silly Safaris presents: Aliens on Earth! (Ages 3+)

Ever wanted to explore the universe to find other life forms? Who wouldn’t want to make friends with aliens? Here is your chance! Musical Conexion Bilingual Family Concert (All ages)

Fancy Nancies, dapper Dans and ALL children are welcomed to this special costumed tea party. Dress in your fanciest attire (that’s a fancy word for clothes) and join us for tea and refreshments, a story, crafts, and a fashion show!

Chess Club (Grades 2+)

Calling all kids interested in the game of chess. Learn and play this strategy board game with guidance from trained volunteers. No previous knowledge or skills

NJABBIM: Never Judge a Book by Its Movie (Grades 6-12)

NJABBIM is a summer book club for teens! In the first meeting of the month we will begin reading the book selection. Then we’ll watch the movie version at the second meeting of the month. We’ll discuss the differences between the book and movie and decide which one was better. Books and snacks provided. Nearly every culture across time, space, and place has ascribed to a creation narrative of how the world began and how people came to inhabit it. This interactive and insightful poetry workshop presented by Manon Voice will invite participants to explore their personal creation narrative by giving voice to the themes, people, and places that shaped their becoming.

Remixing the Universe Writing Workshop (Ages 14+) *

As writers of fanfiction know, it can be a lot of fun to play in the universe of a story, making up new stories about the characters we know and love. In this interactive workshop, local author Bryan Furuness will show you some ways to play in your favorite universe, from mash-ups to prequels, spinoffs to total reboots.

Midseason Gardening & Planning for the Future (Ages 18+) *

Andrew Fritz, Urban Agriculture Conservationist with the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District, will discuss some problems and issues beginning and seasoned gardeners may experience in the middle of the season, how to reframe and solve the problems, and share what steps you can take now that will improve your garden next year.

“Reaching for the Moon” Family Book Discussion (Ages 3+)

Join us for this all-ages family book discussion as we discuss Buzz Aldrin’s picture book “Reaching for the Moon” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Limited copies of the book are available to borrow from the Fishers Public Services Desk starting June 1.

Understanding and Using Financial Statements *

Financial Statements are the "Report Card" of your business. Learn how to read and use financial statements to better manage your business. This workshop is for those with no prior accounting knowledge. We start with the basics. This is accounting for non-accounting people - learn the language of business. Learn how to analyze your business, increase your profits, forecast your business future and create documents you will need for financing.

A gathering for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia and their family members. This event is in collaboration with Dementia Friends Indiana. May’s theme is Storytelling, June’s theme is international activities and the moon landing and July’s theme is the space anniversary.


Hamiltunes Sing-a-long! (Ages 14+)

Hamiltunes is an officially licensed sing-a-long program. We’ll play the instrumental version of popular songs from the Broadway hit Hamilton and the audience can sing along. Please note: Although this program is open to anyone, the lyrics of this Broadway show contain profanity, and your participation in this program acknowledges that. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Genealogy Classes

Genealogy Roundtable: Focus on the Genealogical Proof Standard (Ages 18+)

As I Recall Storytelling Guild (Ages 18+)

Everybody has a story to tell! Come listen, learn, and share your family stories. It is a chance to recall a moment from your life, try out a new story with an audience, or just listen to some good family stories.

Exploring Fold3 and American Ancestors (Ages 18+) *

This “hands-on” class will explore the features of Fold3 and American Ancestors. Participants are encouraged to bring family information, as there will be time after the demonstration to research ancestors. They should also bring a flash drive to capture any information they may find.

Digitizing Your Family Photos (Ages 18+) *

Participants will learn how to digitize, preserve, and organize those family photos they’ve been storing in the attic. We will also explore various ways of turning those photos into keepsakes such as calendars and books to share with family members.

Emerging Maker-in-Residence Open Studio "Artist Zoo"

Join our Emerging Maker-in-Residence, Kassie Woodworth as she hosts open studio hours. Woodworth is a visual artist, who makes a variety of work including sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media. She graduated from Herron School of Art and Design in 2019 with a BFA in Sculpture. Woodworth has exhibited in various galleries including the Indianapolis Art Center, the Indiana State House, Gallery 924, Indianapolis Arts Garden, the Harrison Center for the Arts, and the Tube Factory.
