(Indianapolis, IN, December 1, 2020) Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union, recently awarded over $63,000 in scholarships and grants through its Robert E. Martin Collegiate Scholarship Program, Mike and Marti Ney “People Helping People” Grant, Terry Renick Legacy Golf Grant, and the Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant for the Arts Program.
Indiana Members Foundation awarded the 2020 Scholarship and Grant recipients individually this year in front of their high school, alma mater or organization, in lieu of its annual awards banquet, to maintain social distancing.
The Robert E. Martin Collegiate Scholarship Program was established to honor Robert E. Martin for more than four decades of dedication and service as a board member of IMCU as well as his commitment to education throughout his career as Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at Indiana University Purdue-University at Indianapolis (IUPUI). The scholarships are available to college students that are members of Indiana Members Credit Union. Applications are accepted annually from January 1 through March 31.
The following ten recipients each received a $5,000 Robert E. Martin Collegiate Scholarship:
• Alexander Southern, Avon High School/Indiana University
• Anna Gummere, Danville High School/Indiana University
• Brooke Dixon, Brownsburg High School/Xavier University
• Fiona Dwyer, Cornell College
• Hailey Kuntz, Plainfield High School/University of Michigan
• Jayana Hammonds, Carmel High School/Indiana University
• Joel Greenfield, Lawrence Central High School/University of Michigan
• Lucy Pickett, Shortridge High School/Purdue University
• Sarah Ashburn, North Central High School/Ball State University
• Verayna Spell, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis

The Mike and Marti Ney “People Helping People” Grant was created to assist schools and community organizations that help children to achieve success in learning. Mike Ney serves on the Board of Directors at IMCU.
Four grants were awarded through the Mike and Marti Ney “People Helping People” Grant Program:
• Girls Scouts of Southwest Indiana, Realityopolis Project - $2,500
• Ian Smith Foundation, S.T.A.M.S. Project - $2,500
• Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis, Stings & Jazzy Things Music Camp Project - $2,500
• Visually Impaired Preschool Services, The Early Childhood Intervention Program - $2,500
Joan Wolfe worked for Indiana Members Credit Union for 27 years and was a huge supporter of Indiana Members Foundation's mission to provide school children with the necessities essential for learning and succeeding in their education. Joan lost her fight with Cancer in March of 2013, but her fight to help children succeed continues with the Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant Program.
The purpose of the Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant for the Arts Program is to assist schools and community organizations that help children to achieve success in learning through the arts.
Two grants were awarded through the Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant for the Arts Program to the following organizations:
• Cancer Support Community Central Indiana, Emma’s Art Kits Project - $1,000
• St. Mary’s Child Center, Studio Arts Preschool Program - $1,000
The Terry Renick Legacy Golf Grant was established to assist high schools in communities served by IMCU annually with its golf program. Terry Renick retired from IMCU as the Vice President of Operations after serving 30 years. The following school received a $1,000 grant for their girls golf team to purchase an indoor practice net:
• Brownsburg High School Girls Golf Team - $1,000
Applications for all grants are accepted annually, March 1 through April 15.
