Carmel Education Foundation Awards 33 Great Idea! Grants

Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) is pleased to announce the award of 33 “mini” grants this spring! Grants have been awarded for innovative ideas that include an outdoor book club for middle school students, robotics kits for second graders, creative tools to teach probability, cases to display student artwork, and a variety of initiatives related to diversity education and inquiry. Twelve schools have received these mini grants, with funding up to $500 per grant. The CEF board of directors was committed to providing grants as a boost to the CCS community in a particularly challenging year.
Tara Ascioti, CEF grant chair, says she and the grant committee, comprised of CEF board and community members, “are thrilled to award these grants as a resource to support our students through creative classroom projects and teacher education.” CEF Great Idea! Grants are funded through the generosity of Carmel community members who have donated to the Foundation.

A list of grant recipients, their Great Idea!, and the school where students will benefit can be found here.

To support future grants, please consider a tax-deductible donation to CEF. Contact Jennifer Penix, Executive Director, with any questions.

About the Carmel Education Foundation:

One of the oldest foundations of its kind, the Carmel Education Foundation was created to help Carmel Clay students achieve their full potential. Since 1966, the Foundation has awarded over $2,100,000 in college scholarships to Carmel High School seniors and over $850,000 in education grants to inspire lifelong learning for Carmel Clay students. The Carmel Education Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors who give their time and energy to accelerate the Foundation’s mission by funding grants, awarding more than 80 scholarships annually and expanding resources for Carmel Clay Schools.
